What is inside a Mystery Pack and what is guaranteed

The short answer

A Mystery Pack is a pack of trading cards whose exact contents are not known in advance. What matters is what the seller commits to anyway. With us, every pack contains a guaranteed hit: either a hand-signed autograph card or a card with an original match-worn jersey piece, each with a certificate of authenticity. What stays open is which player and which card. The eight editions differ in how tightly the pool is drawn: Mystery Pack and Rising Star at €69.99 each, Fan Favorites €79.99, Icon, Signature Series and German Giants at €99.99 each, GOAT Edition €299.99 and One of One €399.99. Every edition exists for football and for basketball. We do not publish hit rates or the number of cards per pack.

The dividing line: what may stay open

The appeal of a Mystery Pack is in the opening. That only works if the surprise attaches to the right question.

May stay open: which player, which card, which set.

May not stay open: whether there is a hit inside at all, whether there is a certificate of authenticity, whether the cards are genuine.

The moment those points become part of the surprise, you are not buying a Mystery Pack, you are buying a lottery ticket. That is exactly how to tell sellers apart.

What we deliberately don't say

We publish no hit rates and no card count per pack. Not because it is a secret, but because we don't publish figures we cannot stand behind, and we won't estimate them either. What is promised is stated at each edition and holds.

We also make no claims about the value of the contents or about any increase in value. Nobody knows what a card will fetch in five years.

If a seller promises you both, specific odds and certain appreciation, those are the two statements to look at most closely.

Three warning signs at other sellers

Nowhere does it say what is guaranteed inside. Only „chance of“ and „up to“. In that case the base contents are probably worth considerably less than the price.

There is no statement about proof of authenticity. With autograph cards that is a deal-breaker.

The seller promises a return. Reputable dealers commit to what is inside, not to what it will earn.

Bundles

If you want several editions at once, take a bundle. The Bestseller Bundle holds Mystery, Icon and Signature Series; the Baller Bundle holds Mystery, Icon and GOAT Edition.

Where our cards come from

The cards are bought in person at card shows, not ordered blind from a wholesaler. That takes more work, but it means every card has been in someone's hands before it goes into a pack.

With autograph cards the proof of authenticity comes from the manufacturer: Panini guarantees authenticity through Panini America, and at Topps the signing is witnessed by a company representative. There is more on this in our guide Panini, Topps and Leaf.

Can I request a specific player?

The Bestseller Bundle has a free-text field for a request. That is a wish, not a promise. We can only fulfil it if matching cards are in stock.

How many cards are in a pack?

We don't publish a figure for that. What is promised is the hit, meaning an autograph or a match-worn jersey piece with certificate.

Can I return a pack?

How long does delivery take?

Within Germany usually 3 to 5 working days, abroad 3 to 8 days. After dispatch you get an email with tracking.
